Caregivers at SCMC Redmond
"Mule-Pool" during Commute Options Week 2006
| Commute Options Program
Get fit, save the planet, earn rewards The Commute Options Rewards Program is coming back to Cascade Healthcare Community Oct. 1
Caregivers who carpool, take the bus, walk, ride a bike, scooter or skateboard to work will be rewarded for their efforts to save gas, money and even parking spaces at St. Charles Bend, St. Charles Redmond and all CHC locations starting in October.
The Commute Options Rewards program is returning to CHC after a two-year hiatus, said Kim Curley, outreach coordinator for the nonprofit organization, which promotes choices that reduce the impacts of driving. For every 45 times caregivers choose an alternative mode of transportation to work, they will earn a $20 gift certificate to one of many Central Oregon businesses. Restaurants, grocery stores and even gas stations will be included among the rewards.
“For an option to count you have to improve your health, save a parking space or reduce vehicle miles traveled,” Curley said.
In a new twist, the Commute Options Rewards program is going paperless at CHC. So, instead of filling out paper forms and mailing them to Curley, caregivers will be able to log-on to CaregiverNet starting Oct. 1 and enter their trips electronically.
From the CaregiverNet home page, click on “Employee Services” on the right-hand side of the page. From there, click on the “Commute Options Activity Log” on the left-hand side of the page and follow the instructions to track your trips.
Curley will be visiting St. Charles Bend and St. Charles Redmond to promote the program this fall. For more information, she can be contacted at kim@commuteoptions.org.
