Summer Service

The Summer Service Area includes areas of Bend where it’s most difficult to move residents and visitors around during summer months. Ride Bend connects to citywide and regional bus service at CET’s Hawthorne Station.

How it Works

  1. Download the Ride Bend app available on iTunes Store and Google Play Store to get started, or call to request a ride (phone number to be posted by July 1).
  2. Summon one of our three, dog-friendly vans that seat up to 11 guests and come equipped with bike racks. One van is also ADA accessible.
  3. Take Ride Bend to your desired location within the service area. If floating the Deschutes River, please use the Ride the River shuttle.

Ride Bend is an on-demand, app-based transit service available to everyone. This service will be available at no cost to any rider who summons the vehicle with the Ride Bend app. The program is sponsored by the City of Bend, Visit Bend, the Bend Metropolitan Planning Organization, St. Charles Health Systems, OSU-Cascades, and Cascades East Transit, with in-kind support from Bend 2030 and the Downtown Bend Business Association. Parking for Downtown Bend Events–evenings and weekends

Summer is here and the traffic is increasing, especially during special events in Downtown Bend. Commute Options wishes to thank the City Of Bend and Deschutes County for partnering to create another travel option to access the core of downtown easily and affordably. The public is now invited to park in Deschutes County Services building lots after 6pm on weeknights and on weekends, with no time limit or parking fee. This option is great for carpoolers coming from Redmond, families with strollers and gear, and those individuals with disabilities. The Ride Bend app will get you a ride back to the parking lot between noon-8pm everyday of the week!
