Walk+Roll to School Day - Commute Options

We’re excited to help host and promote Walk and Roll Day activities as part of the May Walk and Roll Challenge! If you don’t see your school listed below, that doesn’t mean you can’t participate! Take a look at our recommended walking routes for schools and you can plan your own walk and roll day activity! Make sure you log your trip by submitting this form by emailing it to info@commuteoptions.org, returning to the front desk at your school or filling out this online form (English/Spanish)!

Elk Meadow Elementary

Park and Walk Meet Up from Brookswood Meadow Plaza (Lovejoy’s Market), May 8th:

Meet at Brookswood Meadow Plaza at 7:15am. Families can park and walk with us or Kiss and Go and students can join our trained leaders on a group walk to school. Sparrow Bakery treats will be provided.

Meet at the southeastern entrance of Rockridge Park (Alpine Ridge Place and NE Liberty Lane) at 7:15am. Families can park and walk with us or Kiss and Go and students can join our trained leaders on a group walk to school. Sparrow Bakery treats will be provided.

Juniper Elementary

Park and Walk Meet Up from Pilot Butte Park, May 8th:

Meet at Pilot Butte Park, 2020 NE Linnea Dr., on the east side of the Butte at 7:15am. Ben Becker and Frank Heimerdinger, both 5th grade teachers at Juniper, will be meeting students and families at 7:15am and rolling safely to Juniper on the bike path and trail, not on the street. And, anyone who wants to walk, ride, roll, of come to school another way.

Juniper Elementary Rolling Recess information:

Students in all grades can bring scooters, bikes, roller blades, skateboards, and other contraptions and roll around a course during recess. Students must have a helmet to ride! Pick up swag at the table in front of the school with Principal Dan.

PTO will have Donuts for Grown-Ups in front of the cafe while supplies last.

Parents – Drop off bikes, etc. at the upper gate on the loop. It will be a busy in the loop, so I will be opening the gate early to help. No scooters, bikes, roller blades, skateboards, and other contraptions on the bus.
