This year’s Get There Challenge was a huge success across the state of Oregon. We had a total of 969 participants, and out of those, 272 represented the Commute Options region in Central and Eastern Oregon.
Our region accounted for 28% of all participants, right behind the Portland metro region, which had 38% of the participants!
The most popular modes of transportation logged during the challenge were:
Bike / E-bike: 45%
Carpool: 16%
Walking: 12%
Here’s the collective impact of the statewide challenge:
44.7 tons of CO₂ reduced
$78,000 saved by choosing alternative modes of transportation instead of driving alone
15,982 drive-alone trips replaced with alternative modes
Thanks so much to everyone who participated and supported this year’s challenge. Choosing alternative modes of transportation strengthens your community, boosts your personal well-being, and is gentle on our climate. We can’t wait to see you keep up the good travel habits and continue exploring new ways to get where you’re going!
